What's included in the $450 international package?

The international package bundles everything needed for a POA used outside Canada: drafting your POA to meet the destination country's requirements, notarization by a Notary Public, and apostille authentication through Global Affairs Canada or the relevant provincial Competent Authority. Government fees are included — there is no separate apostille bill. The package applies to Hague Convention countries (120+ including India, UK, EU, US, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan). Non-Hague countries (UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia) require additional consular legalization which we coordinate separately.

Do you handle the apostille as well?

Yes. For POAs used outside Canada in Hague Convention countries, our $450 international package bundles drafting, notarization, and the apostille — no separate apostille fee, government fees included. For POAs used within Canada, the standard $200 service covers drafting ($150) and notarization ($50) only (no apostille is needed for domestic use).

Yes. We regularly prepare General Power of Attorney (GPA) and Special Power of Attorney (SPA) documents for India. India is a Hague Convention country, so the $450 international package covers everything end-to-end — we ensure the POA meets Sub-Registrar requirements and the apostille is recognised by Indian authorities.

What is the difference between a General and Special Power of Attorney?

A General Power of Attorney (GPA) grants broad authority to act on your behalf across multiple matters. A Special Power of Attorney (SPA) is limited to a specific transaction — such as selling a particular property. We advise which type suits your situation.

How long does the full process take?

Drafting and notarization can typically be completed same-day. The apostille step in the international package depends on the issuing authority (typically 2–3 weeks for Alberta, 4–5 weeks for federal documents). We can advise on current timelines when you contact us.

Yes. We prepare powers of attorney for use in any country worldwide — India, Pakistan, Philippines, China, Middle East, Europe, Africa, and more.
